Livewell candidates are auto-enrolled in the pension scheme after 3 months of continuous employment if eligible. Scottish Widows notifies the Pension team of eligibility, as Livewell is not an NHS employer and cannot join the NHS pension scheme.
Anyone aged 22 to State Pension age, earning above the annual earnings trigger and not already in a qualifying pension, is auto-enrolled. Those earning less or outside this age range but under 75 can join Scottish Widows pension by written request, but are not auto-enrolled. Employer contributions remain fixed at 3%.
Candidates may increase their contributions by contacting the Support Team here.
Opting out
Auto-enrolled candidates receive details about the pension, contributions, and how to opt out.
They have one month from membership start or receipt of enrolment info (whichever is later) to opt out.
Opting out stops further deductions, cancels the policy, and refunds contributions paid.
After this period, candidates can stop contributions anytime, but past payments usually remain until retirement.
